The beauty of Email marketing is that it is still relatively low-cost, easy to do (even for complete beginners) and it enables you to reach lots of people just by pressing ‘Send’. There really are no excuses for not giving Email marketing a try – and you don’t even need to have a website to get started!
However, with so much competition in peoples’ inboxes, you’d be forgiven for thinking that Emails aren’t as good a tool for marketing your business as they were, even a couple of short years ago. It’s all too easy to press the ‘delete’ key without even opening the Email, and your wonderfully written message is banished to wherever the unread emails languish, for all eternity!
Here are a few simple tips to increase the success of your Email Marketing campaigns:
- Write a compelling headline – getting your email opened is half the battle
- Make sure that your message is relevant and of interest to the people you’re sending it to
- Keep your emails short and to the point, don’t waffle! (and revisit our previous post on writing for the web – it works for emails too!)
- Make your message very clear. Don’t confuse your readers by offering too many things in one email
- Don’t Email your list too often or you will annoy them into unsubscribing.
Finally, for today, make sure that Email is just one of your marketing strategies. Using several different ways to reach your target market will increase the chances of getting those orders!
